Parish History
St Lukes Church  Toukley
1962 The foundation stone for St Luke's Church at Toukley was laid by the Bishop of Newcastle on 20th May 1962. At the time George Mullins was Rector of Wyong.

1975 The Rectory at Toukley was dedicated on Sunday the 19th October, 1975.
1992 Very proudly our "Parish Centre" became a reality with its dedication in August, 1992.
St Johns Church  Budgewoi
1950s
and
1960s
St John's Budgewoi had Church of England services held fortnightly in the community hall during the 1950s and 1960s. The Budgewoi Ladies Guild was formed to buy a block of land, which was purchased for $423 and then raised money to buy buildings from Munmorah Power Station. Lots of willing hands were needed to raise money and locate these buildings to there present site. The cost of the building was $300 but it cost $1000 to locate on our present site. There have been many modifications since.
1971 In December, 1971 St John the Evangelist Budgewoi was dedicated and 20 people attended and worshipped. Today St John's have approximately 60 parishioners and 20 children who worship regularly.
2006 Unfortunately the church buildings were in need of refurbishment and upgrading to meet the requirements of Wyong Shire Council and due to the short notice given by Council and the significant funds needed the Parish Council reluctantly agreed that it had no option but to close the church for public worship. The final service was held in St John's Church Budgewoi on 10th September 2006 and it was formally closed by the Assistant Bishop of Newcastle, Bishop Graeme Rutherford on that day.
